Mr. Hendy has graduated from (1) Economic Faculty of Universitas Indonesia (Bachelor’s in Economics); (2) MBA Program of IEU (an affiliation of European University, Belgium, and currently known as Universitas Esa Unggul); (3) Law Faculty of Trisakti University (Master’s in Law); (iv) Islamic Economic and Finance (IEF), Trisakti University (Doctoral Degree); (4) Law Faculty, Padjadjaran University, Bank Law (Doctoral Degree); (5) Law Faculty, Universitas Bung Karno (Bachelor’s in Law);and (6). State Islamic University (UIN) (Doctoral Degree) in Islamic Financing Contracts; (7). Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Bisnis Indonesia /STIEBI (Magister in Business). Mr. Hendy held cum laude predicates on both Doctoral degrees in Islamic Economics and Finance as well as in Bank Law.
After joining The Chase Manhattan Bank in Jakarta in 1981, subsequently from 1983 up to 2001, Mr. Hendy held notable positions in sequence from time to time in banking and financial sector. A majority of his time in that sector was spent in establishing credit quality and handling or dealing with Non Performing Loans (NPL), including in the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) by holding a very senior position, following the Monetary Crisis In Indonesia. That long tenure has given him a commendable understanding and skills to solve problems related to NPL, either inside or outside court settlements. In his experience, Mr. Hendy solved the banking problems by himself individually or by cooperating with a prominent law firm in Jakarta, at that time.
Mr. Hendy holds a number of certifications, among others, as Mediator issued by Indonesian Mediation Body (BAMI) under the Indonesian Supreme Court (Mahkamah Agung), Legal Mining Consultant, Industrial Relationship Practitioner, Contract Drafter, Legal Auditor, all of which were issued by Indonesian Professional Certification Authority; Procurement Lawyer, Certified Procurement Contract Legal Expert, Certified Liquidator of Indonesia, and Tax Lawyer. The last four certifications were issued by the related professional associations.
In addition, Mr.Hendy has passed the competence examination as an arbitrator in the Indonesian Institute of Arbitrators (IArbI).
Since early 2020 up to the present time, Mr. Hendy has been appointed from time to time to be an Expert Witness in banking crime cases by the Crime and Detective Department (Bareskrim) of Indonesian Police, which is now also spreading out to other Regional Police Departments (Polda).
He is a member of The Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI), The Indonesian Sharia Advocates Association (Asosiasi Pengacara Syari’ah Indonesia/APSI), and The Indonesian Tax Consultants and Tax Advocates Association (Ikatan Kuasa Hukum dan Advokat Pajak Indonesia/IKHAPI).
